Student Voice

There are many opportunities for students to become involved in decision-making and planning for improvement at FGS. These include standing for election to the House Council, Sports Council and the School Council; getting involved in the Culture Committee or the Ecology Committee; being selected for interview panels for the appointment of new staff. Student views are valuable and may be given in many different ways.

All students are encouraged to take responsibility for making a contribution, whether returning questionnaires or giving feedback to teachers on lessons and some students join our Learning Innovation Group to help our teachers ensure teaching & learning is always evolving. Across all year groups, students are given the opportunity to apply for leadership and ambassadorial positions; these are very important roles within the school requiring students who display excellent attitude, work ethic and behaviour, as well as a commitment to the school values.
