Provider Access Policy

Provider Access Policy Statement Under Section 42B of the Education Act 1997, as of 2 January 2018, we have a duty to provide pupils in Years 7-13 with access to providers of post-14, post-16 and post-18 education and training. This policy statement sets out how we manage access requests from these providers.

Flixton Girls school really do appreciate and value any input that employers can provide to students' education and decision making about their future. We therefore welcome offers of support and involvement from employers across all industries and employees from a wide range of business organisations. This can be by offering to accept a student for work experience week (usually June/July) or arrange to pop in to deliver a talk to a group of students who appreciate you sharing your expertise.

Give an hour...make a difference - YouTube

We host a Careers and enterprise day, where we invite employers, further education colleges, universities, apprenticeship providers, training providers and other uniformed services to share the experiences. We are open to employers and FE and HE providers to deliver curriculum based sessions in targeted lessons.

We organise for students to visit university campus to have a first-hand experience and talk to student ambassadors about student life and student finances.

FGS are part of The University of Manchester Gateway programme. The University of Manchester Gateways Programme allows learners in Years 7 to 11 to participate in a series of academic enrichment and higher education (HE) awareness activities. It is targeted at talented local pupils who have the ability to progress into HE, and are from backgrounds that are currently under-represented.
