Keeping Parents & Carers Involved

Here at FGS we recognise how important it is to establish good relationships and communication with parents and carers and welcome this wherever possible.

At FGS we promote an open and communicative environment, offering a range of communication opportunities and strategies to maximise partnerships with our parents and carers.

In recent years, technology has played an increasingly key role in bridging the communication gap. We have harnessed these new technologies to offer a number of simple, effective channels of communication. These enable us to keep you up to date regarding all our exciting events, trips and student achievements, as well as important forthcoming events:

Twitter

We have several Twitter feeds including the following:

@FlixtonGS - our main school Twitter feed - follow for all the latest news and comment from the school.
@FGS6thForm - our dedicated Sixth Form feed for all things post 16 at FGS.

Individual subjects and faculties also have Twitter feeds and you will be made aware of these via the teaching staff from these departments.

Facebook
Our Facebook page is another great way to keep in touch with all the latest news at FGS. Just go to facebook.com/FlixtonGirlsSchool and "like" us to get all our updates.

Any school leavers or ex-students/staff can "like" our FGSAlumni page to stay in touch

Individual subjects and faculties also have Instagram accounts and you will be made aware of these via the teaching staff from these departments.

Newsletter

Excel is our termly newsletter which is available to view via our Newsletter page. It is also available in school reception, on the website, distributed through our family of feeder schools and outlets throughout the community.
