Leadership

At Flixton Girls School we recognise the potential in all of our students, and as our future leaders, we offer a range of opportunities and roles for students to become involved in leading others, influencing practice and embedding change. Many of the leadership opportunities will focus on improving the quality of learning and teaching in the classroom, supporting the school's ethos and finding solutions.

We have a range of roles and specific posts that are targeted at specific year groups. We encourage all of our students with the qualities and aspirations to make a difference to life at FGS to apply for a role and to take the opportunities presented to them.

What do we aim to offer our student leaders?

To encourage high aspirations and provide opportunities for students to develop their leadership skills through inspiring, challenging and valued projects
To empower students to work in partnership with staff towards shared goals
To enable excellence in all that our students do and prepare them for Higher Education and for achieving personal and professional success in life after formal education.
Formal and informal learning opportunities to develop to develop as leaders
Incorporation of student's views into decision making in the life of the school

What are we looking for in our student leaders?

A positive attitude towards school and a commitment to the school's ethos
Support towards a range of school activities and events
Adherence to school uniform and presentation
An exemplary record of work ethic, assessment grades, attendance and punctuality
A keen sense of responsibility
An aptitude to build good working relationships with staff
A high level of motivation to work and learn from others
Confidence and the ability to communicate effectively
Reliability and dedication
Ability to inspire others and command respect of their peers
A positive role model
Willing to assist others
Excellent organisational skills
Maturity, politeness and responsibility
