Flixton Girls School is very pleased to welcome back Chloe Halls - ex-student from 2015. Chloe joins us as a member of our catering team after a successful application and interview, following advertisement of an apprenticeship role through Trafford College.

Chloe is working towards her Level 2 Commis Chef qualification in partnership with Trafford College. This fifteen month apprenticeship allows Chloe to earn a salary whilst receiving training in course topics such as food safety, culinary work, nutrition and waste management; both in a commercial kitchen setting and on day release at Trafford College.

Finding this local apprenticeship catering course allows Chloe to follow her passion of catering; whilst earning a salary and gaining on the job practical experience. Chloe feels this really is the best of both worlds for her future success. Although she has only been with us for a couple of weeks she commented: ‘I am really enjoying learning new skills, especially knife skills and scaling up recipes for use in a commercial kitchen.’

Chloe feels this really was the best move for her to succeed in her chosen career. Her ambition, following completion of the course, would be to move onto a pastry specific course. She thoroughly enjoys sampling new recipes and practicing what she has learnt at home.
