Bread and Butter Thing

Flixton Girls School have been approached by "The Bread and Butter Thing", a community led charity that is about making everyday essentials in life more affordable for people in low income families.

They are working with Trafford Council as part of the COVID-19 response plan, to provide weekly groceries at a fraction of the high street prices, through a membership scheme. Providing some fruit and vegetables, as well as store cupboard and fridge items.

As a school we aim to provide our families and school community with access to support we or groups within our local community can offer. This service, which becomes available for residents of Flixton and Urmston from 12th June is the perfect example of the times in which we are currently living and the need to help others gain any necessary support locally.
