Herlich Willkommen Onatti
Posted at 2:32 pm on 9th May, 2018
FGS Year 9 and 10 German students were given the opportunity to support their studies by experiencing an all-German language performance of ‘Hausarrest’.
The production company Onatti brought this original and amusing play to FGS enabling students to review all the key vocabulary they are currently learning, in a clever and entertaining way. The production reinforces all the skills involved in being a successful language learner and encourages audience participation.
Onatti Productions said ‘Only professional foreign actors are sent to perform in schools. All our plays are modern and written especially for students learning a foreign language. Each story is aimed at a modern audience and pitched at the perfect level to compliment language learning.’
Year 10 student Abbie Barnard who was called up to take part in the play commented: ‘the play was good, fun and surprisingly not too difficult to understand and although it was nerve wracking, I still enjoyed taking part!’
Miss Longden, Head of German said ‘It was a brilliant performance with really benefitted all of the students. It was really beneficial for them to hear and see German outside of a classroom setting and I’m really pleased they enjoyed it. We are looking forward to hosting Onatti again in the future.’
