House Arts 'Being British'

Flixton Girls School celebrated our students amazing talents with our annual House Arts activities which culminated in a finale competition with the theme ‘Being British’. Over 30 students were chosen to perform in the finals from over 60 entries.
The winning act in KS3 was Isabelle Rose 8MG, singing ‘Almost There’ from Princess and the Frog, with 7FH in second for their performance of ‘When I Grow Up’ from Matilda, Saskia Street 8PN in third singing ‘Make you feel my love’ by Adele and Maddison Boswell and Mia Waring 7ZN receiving a special mention for their gymnastics performance.
Whilst in KS4 the winner was Ebony Riley 9NH dancing to ‘It Gets Better’, Skyla Stanhope 11SH in second with a poem entitled ‘Britain’, Mia Robertson 10JF in third singing her own material and Eden Woodstock-Burgher received a special mention for her singing ‘Lay Me Down’ by Sam Smith.
Mrs Trussell, Head of School and judge for the event said: ‘This was an amazing experience, seeing so many of our talented youngsters promoting diversity and British values. Every single performance was excellent.’
Miss Johnston tweeted: ‘Loved every single second of today! #HouseArts.’
Miss Perkins tweeted: ‘So proud of all participants.’
Congratulations to all students who participated in this extravaganza of excellent talents promoting diversity and British values.
