We're glad our FGS Community Hire could assist in hosting this event and we know the students really appreciated the opportunity to be involved Thanks again Cllr @Joanne13Harding & Cllr @KateGreenSU and all those who were nominated / awarded #IWD2022 #BreakTheBias
Great work from Maysem Alkhfaji (Flixton Girls Council Vice President) and Jayah Montrose-Walklet (Flixton Girls Council Equality Ambassador)
Cllr Joanne Harding commented: 'Can I say a huge thank you for hosting my event on Friday evening.
The room was just perfect and I was so delighted to work alongside FGS. This is something I would love to do more of in the future, anything I can do to foster peer support/mentoring with some of the women that were in attendance on Friday night then please do let me know.
I look forward to working with you in the future.'
Headteacher Mrs Trussell said: 'It was an absolute pleasure – what a fantastic event and it was a real privilege to be able to attend!
I was really struck by the number of women who have selflessly gone “above and beyond” in order to support their local community and enrich the experiences of others whilst juggling their own families and working lives. My grandmother used to say “if you want something doing, ask a busy woman!” and that definitely seems to be the case for these wonderful women in Trafford.
It would be great to work closely together to facilitate student mentoring; the women were such inspirational role models and I know that our students would really benefit.'
