Junior Leadership Success!

At Flixton Girls School we pride ourselves on providing all our students with opportunities to allow them to influence the world in which they live. For this reason, we provide a route for students to come together and influence change within the school through Junior Leadership Team, overseen by our Head Girl Team.

This year the application road for those students wishing to be considered involved a rigorously detailed written application followed by an on-line presentation and formal interview via Google Meet. Our panel of staff deliberated long and hard as each applicant presented themselves very well and demonstrated her own vision for FGS including how to develop our 5 pathways for health and wellbeing (Physical, Nutritional, Social, Moral and Academic Health) and the legacy she wished to leave behind.

Each applicant made the decision of the panel very difficult, but finally after hours of deliberation our Head Girl Team can be announced. Congratulations to:

Miss O’Halloran commented: ‘We were extremely impressed with all applicants - it was such a strong field. Everyone had put an enormous amount of effort into their presentations and they were dressed to impress too! Even for the virtual interview process. It was a nerve wracking experience for all students but they rose to the challenge and did not disappoint! We can't wait to roll out some amazing ideas such as #oneteam and #opentheconversation along with many other exciting initiatives put forward by the students.’

We are all very proud of all the applicants’ efforts in putting themselves forward for these highly sort after roles. We are looking forward to working together again soon, to bring about changes put forward by our student body. Congratulations to all those who took part in the process and especially to those who gained their posting for 2020/21.
