Letter from our Chair of Governors
Posted at 4:24 pm on 10th February, 2020
Dear Parents and Carers,
Following a rigorous process and a very strong field of candidates shortlisted for the post, I am delighted to announce that Dorothy Trussell has been duly appointed as Headteacher with effect from September 1st 2020.
The selection panel was extremely pleased to receive high quality applications from candidates across the country. The three day process included input from the whole school community: students, staff, parents, Governors and Trustees and tasks undertaken involved assemblies delivered to all students, observing and evaluating teaching, development planning, in depth interviews from the Student Council, the Trustees and Governors and explaining their vision for the future of FGS.
Whilst it was a very intensive and demanding process, myself and the panel considered every aspect of the candidates performance over the 3 days and came to the unanimous decision that Mrs Trussell is the right person to lead the school on the next stage of the journey. She embodies and has helped to create the highly successful ethos of FGS and has articulated an exciting vision for the future of the school.
On behalf of the Governors and the Trustees, we look forward to working together in September.
Yours sincerely
Mrs Steel
Chair of Governors
