Peppa Pig Dance
Posted at 10:01 am on 24th May, 2017
Flixton Girls School hosted a pre-school dance and movement class inspired by popular children's TV show Peppa Pig; organised to support a worldwide children's charity ‘Save the Children’.
Save the Children believes every child deserves a future. In the UK and around the world, they give children a healthy start in life, the opportunity to learn and protection from harm. They do whatever it takes for children – every day and in times of crisis – transforming their lives and a future to share.
For every £1 they receive, they spend:
- 89p on activities to benefit children
- 10p to raise the next £1
- 1p on governance and other costs
The Move with Peppa class ran by Mrs Ashurst, Dance Teacher at FGS was attended by Abbotsford Prep school pre-school and reception classes.
For children aged between 3 and five years, the class was free but Abbotsford parents, guardians and staff were asked to make a donation to Save the Children as part of the charity's Muddy Puddle Walk campaign which ran from the 8th to 14th May nationally.
Abbotsford Headteacher Mrs Howard told FGS staff that the Reception Teacher has been using the ideas from the Peppa Pig Dance Session in her own PE lessons, as the pupils were really engaged with the activities.
Our fundraising event raised over £75 for this fantastic national charitable activity and we would like to thank all those that contributed and participated in the sessions.
