It was another record breaking year for FGS Sixth Form students - 100% of all students secured places at top universities, apprenticeships or employment and look forward to the next part of their journey.

And 2019 saw an increase in A*-A grades - including Anna Myerscough who achieved three A grades and is heading off to the University of Leeds to read Philosophy.

We saw many successes across a variety of disciplines but notably 100 % of students who passed Art did so at grades A*-A.

As part of the Healthy Learning Trust we aim to actively support students who want to pursue a healthcare  pathway and we saw record results in Health and Social Care level 3 this year with a fantastic 100% A*-C pass rate and 50% of pupils achieved the top distinction star award (A**)

Sophie Northover, Lauren Eames and Laura Brown are heading off to study nursing at the University of Manchester, Salford University and Manchester Metropolitan University and Hannah Williamson looks forward to studying Biomedical sciences at the University of Manchester after achieving some outstanding grades.

There were excellent pass rates across a number of subjects including 100% A*-C English Literature and Physical Education.  Philosophy students achieved 63% A*-B grades with 93.3% gaining A*-C in sociology. BTEC sport gained 100% success rate in year 12 with 14% Distinction (A*-A) and 66% Merit.
