Tours, Talks & Open Doors!

Flixton Girls School (FGS), students and staff proudly welcomed our prospective students and their family members to our first face to face Open Evening event since 2019!

Over 335 families were able to meet staff and join our small group guided tours; we were able to provide an overview of subject departments, a headteacher talk and a tour of the site over a three hour period.

Attendees’ feedback confimed that our new-look, face to face event was well received within our community  - keeping visitors, staff and students safe, whilst enabling as many visitors as possible to access our site. We hope that being able to open our doors in this way assists those families in completing the application process for the next phase of their academic journey.

Parental feedback included, “Thoroughly enjoyed the tour, well done.” “Just wanted to say a huge thank you to the staff and children involved in the open evening which was excellent. My daughter really enjoyed the tour and her words were ‘I’m  definitely coming here’.” 

Mrs Trussell, Headteacher said, “Having been a part of FGS for almost two decades, I am absolutely thrilled and honoured to have hosted my first open evening as the headteacher of our “Flixton family”. I am so proud to have helped transform this school into what it is today and one that truly sits at the heart of the community.

Following my commitment to do my very best to make this good school even better, we continue to eradicate inequalities and maximise academic outcomes whilst still growing the school’s reputation and performance.  It was so lovely to be able to show everyone the work that we are doing to take us to the next level first hand.

Those who choose FGS for their daughter are going to enable her to have the most amazing journey with us over the next seven years, as there is no limit to her potential here. We have a superb team of teaching staff delivering inspirational learning experiences as well as expert operational and support staff who provide amazing care and encouragement.”
