West End Workshops
Posted at 11:10 am on 31st October, 2018
Earlier this year, students who dedicated their time to Performing Arts and were involved in previous Flixton Girls performances, were invited to experience a professional workshop in the West End.
Student participation at the workshop focused on the ‘Step in Time’ performance from Mary Poppins. This allowed the group to get a head start, in readiness for our forth coming school production of the junior version of this show, at the end of January 2019.
This rewarding trip included watching two professional West End production performances of ‘Aladdin’ and ‘School of Rock’, plus the opportunity for a whistle stop tour of London landmarks, which for some students was the first opportunity to experience our capital city.
Students commented; ‘We they really enjoyed the special effects of the ‘Aladdin’ production, which made the carpet fly.’ Plus the child actors and musicians in the ‘School of Rock’ were very talented and inspiring to watch.’
Miss Carney said: ‘Everyone had a wonderful experience and we are already planning what shows we wish to see this academic year.’
