SUMMER FAIR – Saturday 6th July – 11am – Free Entry – ALL WELCOME

Hello everyone and welcome to week 13 of the academic year. This week started with a phone call at 10:00am Monday morning. As you will have all been aware it was the call for our Section 5 graded Ofsted Inspection.
I want to take the time to express my immense pride in our students for their exemplary behaviour and positive attitudes during this process. Equally, I extend my heartfelt appreciation to my wonderful staff for their hard work, unwavering commitment, and the positive contributions they make to the school every day. In terms of timescales the report is likely to be published early in the new year due to the Christmas break. Once we have received this, we will ensure it is shared with you all.

What else has happened this week other than the inspection?

Huge thank you to Mrs Bates who took several students out to an NHS careers event. The event showcased all the different careers available within this sector. We hope those who attended benefitted from the experience and who knows we may have inspired many of you to go and work in the NHS one day. We also had an amazing visit from a lady called Laura who works as an algorithm developer for Thales talking all thing sonar in science. A very inspirational careers talk that was well attended. Thank you so much to the Science department for organising.

A Christmas Carol
This afternoon, Mrs. Cannons and Miss Wiggett had the wonderful opportunity to accompany several of our performing arts students to witness a captivating production of the renowned ‘A Christmas Carol.’ The performance, presented by 3rd-year university students, unfolded at the prestigious Dancehouse Theatre in Manchester. We anticipate that this experience will serve as a source of inspiration for our exceptionally talented performers, instilling in them the belief that reaching for the stars is a tangible aspiration.
Fitness Friday, Inter-form, Inflatable football and bingo.

The entire school, both students and staff, embraced Fitness Friday donning their PE kit. Throughout the day, our school community united through a plethora of engaging activities. One highlight was the inter-form football competitions involving Year 7, 9, and 10 students. A massive congratulations to the outstanding forms who emerged as overall winners: 7TL, 9GO, and 10HC. The level of competitiveness displayed was truly impressive, and we must give a special shout-out to our Year 7 students for their incredible chants and unwavering support. Adding an extra layer of excitement, an inflatable football pitch graced our 4G field during lunchtime, thanks to the efforts of Miss Dixon. The students were absolutely thrilled with this addition, and the joy on their faces was a testament to the success of the day’s activities.

While many of our students were actively participating in sports over lunch, our fantastic Year 10 and 11 students, along with Miss O’Halloran, Mrs. Smith, Mrs. Croniken, and Miss McGougan, gathered in the hall for a lively game of Bingo. The atmosphere was filled with anticipation, and the tension was intense as students competed for prizes with each call. Despite a few near false calls, everyone involved had a fantastic time, and our winners left with delightful chocolate prizes.
Here is the week in pictures…

These moments of joy and unity reflect the vibrant spirit of our school community, and we are delighted to witness such enthusiasm from our students. Thank you also to my team of amazing staff and their continued support in creating memorable experiences for our students.

I hope you all have a lovely weekend and if any of you are popping to the Christmas fair do come and say hello!

Take Care
