Welcome to Week 12, and yes, you’ve got it right – we’ve hit the 12th week of the academic year! This week kicked off with many of our students starting their day early in Artisan (the canteen) for a quick toast and juice boost. There’s been a palpable mix of nerves and excitement in the air, particularly from our Year 11 students gearing up for their first mock exams. Picture tables filled with revision guides, students quizzing each other – it’s been a testament to their focus and determination to give it their all!

Navigating mock exams can be overwhelming, but witnessing the resilience of our young learners fills me with pride. I’m confident that this experience will better prepare them for the real deal in May. As we head into next week, a few more mock days are on the horizon before we return to our regular school routine. Keep up the fantastic work – you’re doing amazing!

A big shout-out to our dedicated staff for their hard work during this mock period. They’ve not only supported students in class and during after-school revision sessions but also provided comfort and guidance when needed. Now, they embark on the important task of marking and moderating the papers – no small feat! Thank you for your continued efforts and commitment.

What else have we been up to?

Festive Cheer 🎄🌟

Our fantastic Art and DT technicians are spreading the festive cheer by decking out the school with delightful decorations! I can’t wait to see what creative wonders they have in store. A massive thank you to the team for bringing the holiday spirit to life!

Sporting Action

Fixtures continued this week for the Year 8A Netball team. They played BTH an narrowly lost and then went on to take a fantastic 16-5 win against Stretford High. Miss Collier said the team demonstrated fantastic teamwork and skill in both matches and she is very proud of the whole team.

This week some of our wonderful Year 7 students were involved in a Trafford team building festival. The students worked brilliantly together and successfully completed all tasks – proving they have excellent team building skills.

SEND Review

This week, our SEN team underwent a comprehensive review facilitated by SEN consultant Natalie Packer. Natalie actively participated in lesson observations and engaged in meetings with students, parents, and staff. I extend my gratitude to everyone involved for the successful execution of the day. Special thanks to the parents and carers who joined us online to provide valuable feedback to the team.

We continued to receive donations this week for the Friends of Flixton tombola. We have been overwhelmed with your generosity and would like to say a huge THANK YOU!

What you like to develop your own professional and personal skills? You can do both by becoming a governor. School governors play a critical role in improving education and making a positive difference to children and young people’s futures. Our current team are fantastic and friendly and would love more volunteers form our local community to join them. If you think you want to help us shape the future of our wonderful school. Email the us for more information

Thank you as always for your continued support and I hope you have a lovely weekend. Mine started with absolute panic when I thought I destroyed the whole school website at 4pm! You can only imagine what my reaction was but now it is resolved I will be looking forward to now closing my laptop, playing a little bit of hockey and spending some quality time with my family.

Take Care
