Q

Keeping You Informed

We understand the importance of keeping you informed about everything that is happening at Flixton Girls School, so we are committed to providing you with up-to-date information in a number of different ways;

End of Week Emails

At the end of each week, parents and carers should look out for our update email with information about what has happened in the past week, reminders and key dates for the term and a look ahead to the following week so you can prepare. You can view the latest end of week updates below.

School App and Portal

Parents and Carers can stay connected with the school by using the Arbor parent portal or app! You will see your child’s timetables, achievement points and positive comments, any negative behaviour points your child receives and even attendance records. You will need the portal to be able to consent to school trips and visits . You can download it to your phone or access your account via a web browser. This is an exciting way to communicate with you and for you to have more information about your child.

Progress Evenings

A face-to-face opportunity for parents and carers to meet teachers and hear about their child’s progress at school. Each year group has an annual progress evening and appointments with teachers will be available between 3.30pm and 6pm on your year group’s evening date. You can check what date this will be below.

Reporting Touchpoints

Throughout the year we will provide you with a report on your child’s progress. More information for 23/24 to follow.

Website

Please keep checking the school website news page and home page for any exciting news items or urgent messages.

Our Communication Plan

You might receive phone calls or emails from our Pastoral team specifically about your child. You may get emails from teachers if they need to let you know about anything specifically. Our attendance team will be in touch if your child is not in school and we haven’t heard from you. You can read more about this in our Communication Plan.

Our Communication Strategy

We commit to ensuring our communication is:

  • Clear and concise
  • Necessary and purposeful
  • Accessible and inclusive
  • Respectful and polite
  • Two-way and collaborative
