Enrichment
The Sixth Form at FGS has a significant enrichment programme, which is updated each term and runs in parallel with the main school. Additional experiences and skills make students stand out when applying to university or for jobs, and all of our young people are expected to engage with a variety of activities alongside their studies.
All students are able to apply for the National Citizen Service programme to help them prepare for the Sixth Form and university. The programme is free and includes four weeks of activities in the summer holidays in year 11 or year 12. The NCS qualification is recognised by both employers and universities.
Students are expected to undertake either regular work experience each week, an internship or to volunteer in the community. We work hard to ensure that these experiences complement students' choice of A Levels and future career aspirations.
In addition to this there are other opportunities, including the Duke of Edinburgh Award Programme and Outward Bound. Students are also encouraged to take the Extended Project at Level 3, which is highly regarded by universities.
